Rideau Hall
Rideau Hall has been the home and offices for the Canadian Governor General since 1865, seventeen years after it was built by Thomas MacKay. It is an interesting example of a Classical Tradition house, that has evolved over the last 165 years.
Our role in 1990 was to investigate all means to alter the public spaces and entrances to accommodate handicapped persons. Aside from the usual difficulties of renovating a Heritage-listed building, the technical problems were immense.
